MSI’S OBJECTIVE IS TO BECOME AN INDUSTRY LEADER IMPACTING THE SUSTAINABILITY MOVEMENT

•The Marine Sustainability Initiative Program (MSI) strives to incorporate innovative efforts with other industrial partners to help reduce waste, emissions, and virgin materials to increase environmentally friendly applications, promote circular economies in the industrial manufacturing market, and sustainable resources in the industry.

•Marine Composites Technology has moved into the broader transportation market. Like boats, these markets are enjoying a longer product life cycle.

•These new markets need to address sustainability; they cannot hide.

•As we are all using the same technology, we have an opportunity to work together to develop innovative solutions that take a waste stream and end-of-life product and transform these into high-value materials.

•Structural Composites, Inc. wants to help lead teaming/collaboration and obtain government funding to advance the effort.

Marine Composite Technology

Composite technology has vastly advanced over the past decade and is constantly evolving.
Marine Composite technology is now being used in various applications never thought possible before, such as transportation, infrastructure, sport, leisure activities, and more.
The ever-growing challenges with composites are, how do we recycle them? What do we do with them at the end of their life? How can we incorporate environmentally friendly, sustainable materials into composites?
These are a few challenges Structural Composites, Inc. (SCI) and Industry partners are collaborating on to create innovative solutions to combat the composite recycling and sustainable solutions conundrum.
